DIY MATERIAL LAB

Calculation limits and responsibility

A material estimate helps organize a project. It cannot establish that a construction is safe, compliant or suitable for its intended use.

Quantities, coverage and prices

Actual consumption depends on tolerances, substrate conditions, cutting losses, installation technique and product characteristics. Allowances are planning assumptions. Check manufacturer instructions and keep an appropriate reserve. Costs use the prices and charges you enter and do not confirm availability or quoted purchase prices. Wood movement and grout coverage depend on the supplied coefficients and product data.

Cutting proposals

The optimizers use heuristic methods. A proposal is not guaranteed to be the globally best arrangement. Check stock, grain direction, edge trim, saw kerf, part labels and every dimension before cutting. An area-based estimate alone does not prove that all parts fit in the purchased material; use an actual layout where fit matters.

Safety and construction decisions

The tools do not assess load-bearing capacity, electrical safety, fire protection, permissions or local building regulations. They do not issue engineering designs or construction approvals. Obtain project-specific advice from a qualified specialist for structural or safety decisions. Mandatory rights and liability that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
