Your material plan

Enter your measurements to build a material plan.

This models identical shelf boards cut from one stock length, with one crosscut kerf per shelf. Width is recorded in the cut list but not packed across the stock width. Side panels, backs, brackets and fixings must be added separately. No load capacity is calculated. Compare a final full cut list with the optimizer before buying.

Worked reference example

Illustrative inputs in metres and SI units; the price is an example entered by the user, not a market quotation. Numeric reference verified by the automated test suite.

Calculation method

nₛ = floor((S + k) / (L + k)); N = ceil(n / nₛ)

Measure. Calculate. Build.

  1. Use actual dimensions and split complex rooms into rectangles.
  2. Allow for cuts, joints and package sizes. Compare stock formats.
  3. Combine your results in a shopping list you can save and print.
